Using the program
If you need help with how to use the program, consult the help file include with the installation. Pressing F1 in the program should display it. If nothing happens, check that the translator.chm file is selected as the help document in the Preferences dialog. If you prefer HTML based help, select translator.html as the help file instead. Note that you need to elect to install the help files when you install the program. If you forgot to do that, run the installer again.
If you need help that is not described in the help file, you can post a message to the Help forums at SourceForge.
Help with plugins
The plugins are not documented very well, but an effort to document the plugins are located on the PluginsHelp page.
Best practice
If you need tips and help on how to use the program most effectively and what other tools you might need, the BestPractice page might have some answers.
Bugs
If you find something that you consider a bug, post a new message to the Bug tracker at SourceForge. Please check that the issue hasn't already been reported and try to describe the issue in as much detail as you can to make it easier to understand, duplicate and (hopefully) fix.
Translations
The program itself is supplied with quite a large collection of translations. If you would like to translate the program to your own language, the task is pretty simple.
To start a new translation:
- Open languages/Default.lng as the original file
- Click Cancel when prompted for a translation file
- Click the New translation menu item to create an empty translation file
- Translate all the original strings
- Save the Translation (preferably as Unicode) with a descriptive name (Swedish.lng, German.lng, Arabic.lng etc) in the Languages folder
The latest language files can always be found at the Language files tracker at Sourceforge. If you have translated a language file and want to share it or want to check for updated language files, that is the place to look.
